
Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE) officially inaugurated and incorporated under Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) since the year 1995 is a Division of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) which constitute of Professional Engineers from all disciplines in Engineering who are passionate for sustainable environment.
As part of its desire to promote the profession, society and chapters hence the Investiture of Engr. Adeolu Odusote, FNSE, mni as the Pionneer Chairman of NIEE ABUJA CHAPTER by the then National Chairman in year 2004.
Environmental Institute of Engineers also known as ‘Mother of all Divisions’ of NSE specialize in the following major areas ; Solid and waste water management, Air, land and water pollution control, Waste disposal, Industrial hygiene, Recycling, Radiation protection, Afforestation, Spillage and disaster control, Environmental impact assessment, Land and coastal erosion/flooding control, Climatology and meteorology, Health, safety and environment, Environmental Engineering education and law, Public health etc.
Other core areas of the Institute is the technical/industrial visit to both local and foreign companies, involvement in promoting capacity building in the aspect of training staff/workers in Government agencies, ministries, etc as well as individuals and corporate companies. We also seek collaboration and cooperation with environmental groups, organizations, corporate and international bodies including other affiliated organizations.
Furthermore, NIEE is a specialist technical institution on Environment empowered by the council to conduct professional examination/interview on all Engineering practitioners in the Nigerian Environment sector before certification to members.

Benjamin Onyekwelu Amalikolo, is a Member of Nigerian Society of Engineers, a COREN registered Engineer and a Corporate Member of Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers (NIWE) and Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE) of which he is the current Chairman NIEE Abuja chapter.
Engr. Benjamin Onyekwelu Amalikolo, MNSE obtained the Bachelor of Engineering Degree (B.Eng) in Soil and Water Engineering in April, 1994 from the Federal University of Technology Owerri, IMO State. Also obtained his Masters of Engineering (M.Eng), Soil and Environment from University of Abuja.
Engr. Amalikolo started his Engineering practice with a stint at the Engineering Department of Shell Petroleum Exploration and Development Company of Nigeria Plc Port Harcourt. In year 1994 to 1995 did his NYSC with Messrs Piekle International Limited an Oil servicing company and major equipment suppliers to SPEDC. Shortly after the National service, he joined Fecon Engineering Limited, a Lagos based Engineering Services and Consulting firm in December 1997 and was posted to Abuja as a project/procurement manager overseeing the construction of some units of building projects in Gwarinpa II Estate, Abuja under Federal Housing Authority (FHA) between 1997 and 2000.
In January 2001, he joined a young enterprising company, WICHTECH Industries Limited as a pioneer Engineer/Technical Manager. A special purpose vehicle for the procurement, distribution, services of specialized range of building/construction materials in Nigeria and other West African countries. A company he helped pioneer to world class repute, he rose to become a Director in the year 2015. Engr. Amalikolo, Benjamin Onyekwelu is happily married to Mrs. Hannah. E. Ben-Amalikolo with a lot of God’s blessings
Lynda Bitrus Elesa is an erudite Engineer that is personally committed to professional standards, with obligations to the society, the economy and the environment. She is a professional engineer (COREN Registered), a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Vice Chairman of Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE).
Engr. Bitrus Lynda holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Water Resources Engineering from University of Maiduguri, a Master Degree in Urban Management and Development from Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands, a Master Degree in Environmental Resource Management from Nassarawa State University Keffi, as well as a Professional Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management and Development from the Institute of Development Administration of Nigeria (IDAN).
She is a Productivity Practitioner (Productivity Capacity Building) with the National Productivity Centre, Abuja. Her strong inclination and her passion for Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education has led her to humanitarian services among the children and the youths as a Career Development Expert.
She is also the Technical Secretary of Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers (NIWE) Abuja branch, Member of Nigerian Environmental Society (NES) Abuja Branch, as well as an active member of the Association of Women Engineers in Nigeria (APWEN), Abuja Branch.
Henry Ugochukwu Okoye a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and a registered COREN Engineer believes so much in Sustainable Environment and Upholding the Dignity of Engineering Profession. He is the General Secretary of the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE) Abuja, Chapter. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering honours, Chemical Engineering from Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Imo State. He has on different levels worked in the manufacturing industries (Golden oil Industries Onitsha, Niger State Water Board, Paint Industries Obosi etc) for years where he obtained certain certifications on In - Company operations.
Engr. Henry is the Executive Director HOUG Consultancy and Innovative Engineering Limited (HCIEL) who in different capacity work as a Consultant, Industrialist, Environment and Engineering Expert. He is a mediator and negotiator which make him more likable among his associates and family members.
He is the Publicity Secretary of the NSE Maitama Branch, Resource personnel on various COREN accreditations in Universities/Polytechnics and a member of several NSE committees at Branch and National level. He has being a reliable and outstanding personality which leads to several merit /service awards.
Engr. Okoye Ugochukwu is currently a masters degree student, Environmental Resource planning, University of Abuja.
He is a stakeholder of Catch them young Engineers, happily married and enjoys rendering service to humanity which technically is the best work of life.
Rafiu Mistura Adenike a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and a registered COREN Engineer believes so much in Sustainable Environment. She is the Assistant General Secretary of the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE).
She hold a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) honours in Chemical Engineering from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso (LAUTECH), Oyo State. She has on different levels worked in the manufacturing industries (Berger Paints PLC) for I.T.
Engr. Rafiu Mistura Adenike is a Chemical Engineer II at Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) and serve as a Process Engineer at Wupa Sewage Treatment Plant in the Dewatering unit. She is a super woman and versatile in every aspect which makes her more likable among her associates and family members.
She is the Assistant Publicity Secretary of Association of Professional Women Engineers (Abuja Chapter) also Treasurer, Nigeria Institute of Facility Engineers and Management (NIFEngM) Abuja Branch.
She is not married but engaged and enjoys rendering service to humanity which technically is the best work of life.
Udosen Idoreyin Stephen MNSE is the Technical Secretary of the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE) Abuja Chapter and also the Chairman of its Technical Committee.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering honours in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Engr Idoreyin has served in several committees in the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE) Abuja Chapter as well as the Maitama Branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) where he is an active member.
He has over 8 years’ experience in the field of environmental management and sustainability and has worked as a team member/lead on various environmental projects.
He is the Principal Consultant at Tru-Spec Safety Consult Ltd, a consulting firm specialized in Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Consulting.
She started her engineering career at the Federal Polytechnic, Bida Niger State where she had her National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering in the year 2005 and 2008 respectively. She had her Post Graduate Diploma in Civil Engineering in the year 2012 and went ahead to get her Master’s degree in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering from Bayero University, Kano in year 2017. Over the years she self-developed herself in some Civil Engineering and Water Engineering software to enable her to be on top of her game.
She is a lover of STEM and sustainable environment Advocacy and has taken this message to primary, secondary and post-secondary students. She was a part - time lecturer in Civil Engineering department of Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa. At the present, she works with Federal Capital Development Authority – Abuja.
In her passion to serve in the Profession, she decided to serve in the capacity of the Assistant Technical Secretary of Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineering (NIEE) as well as the Assistant Secretary of the Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers (NIWE).
Oto-obong Essien is the Financial Secretary of the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE) Abuja Chapter, she is also a member of the Nigeria Society of Engineers and COREN certified.
She is a graduate of Chemical Engineering from Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State and undertaking MSc. Chemical Engineering in Abuja University.
Obtain an Award from NYSC for establishment of a school library (Community Development Project).

Engr. Oto-obong Essien is a staff of Federal Ministry of Environment, Pollution Control and Environmental Health Department, her role among others is hazardous Chemicals/Waste management and Cleaner Production.
Engr. Augustina Uche Onwudiachi is a Civil Servant in Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Abuja. She is a Technical Officer in Dams Department.

Engr. Simeon Aneke is the Publicity / Welfare Secretary of the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE) Abuja Chapter. He is also the Assistant General Secretary of Young Engineers Forum of Nigeria (YEFoN) Abuja Chapter. A passionate administrator.
A graduate of Transportation/Highway Engineering from the Institute of Management and Technology Enugu in the year 2011 and Civil Engineering Post Graduate Diploma in view.
Mr. Simeon Aneke (Field Engr.) is a Project Manager with Superb Engineering Services; a construction firm specializes in Building and Civil Engineering Infrastructures. He has being involved and experienced in Bridge, Drainage / Road Constructions, Building Construction/Renovations. He is a member –Technical Committee of Nigerian Society of Engineers, Abuja Branch and a represented the branch as an External Observer in Federal Capital Development Authority’s (FCDA) Procurement Bid Openings (2016 – 2017).

Dr. Hypolite. B. D. Onyekwere, a product of Imperial College of Science and Technology, South Kensington, London (1987) bagged the Doctorate Degree in Management and Administration of Shalom Bible University, West Des Moines, Iowa, U.S.A (2005). He specialized in Highway Engineering, Hydrology of Dams and Water Supply, having worked in World Bank and European Union Projects for over 20 years.
He graduated in Civil Engineering from University of Lagos (1977) and bagged a Master of Science Degree from University of London (1986) with a DIC of Imperial College, South Kensington (1987). He was a winner of the Herbert Macaulay Civil Engineers Award of Council of Nigerian Society of Engineers (1989).
Engr Onyekwere is the Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of H.B.D Consultants (Nigeria) Limited, Enugu. He is presently the General Manager Projects engaged in the multi-disciplinary services of Diamond Development Company Limited with Office Address at No 18 Agadez Street, Wuse II, FCT-Abuja.
Engr Onyekwere was recently sworn in by the Governor as the Chairman, Anambra State Government Technical Committee for the newly established Civil Engineering and Building Materials Testing Laboratory under the State Ministry of Works to check the incessant collapse of buildings and roads in the state.
He bagged the 2014 Distinguished Membership Award of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Abuja Branch at the Annual General Meeting held at Reiz Continental Hotel, Abuja. He is a highly professional Chartered Engineer, (NSE No 03340 and COREN No R 3505.)
He is married with 5 children and has 11 grandchildren. He is a respected elder in the local Catholic Church assembly and the “Onwa-Na-Etili Ora’’ of Umuarugwu-Uzoakwa, Ihiala in Anambra State of Nigeria.
Chika E. Fredericks is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and a COREN registered Engineer who believes so much in sustainable cities and friendly Environment. She is the Immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE), Abuja chapter.
She holds a Bachelor of Engineering honors in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from Enugu State University. Currently she is the Assistant Director, Transport Secretariat, FCTA. Engr. Fredericks have serve in different capacity as a committee member of NSE, both at National and Branch level. Also, she is a lover of estate development. She is happily married to a caring husband and blessed with lovely children.
