
The United Nation (UN) set the 5th of June each year to celebrate the Environment since our planet earth is home to all living things especially the humankind. Thus the World Environment Day (WED) is the UN’s annual principal vehicle for encouraging worldwide awareness and sensitization for collective action on the environment.
WED has develop to be a broad global platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated by stakeholders all over the world. It also serves as the “People’s Day” for doing something positive for the environment, mobilizing individual actions into a collective power that generates an exponential positive impact on the planet.

As part of the NIEE 2017 Annual conference (Theme : Nigerian Engineers – Executing and Upholding Environmentally Friendly Projects), several events took place within the week. The major highlights were the football tournament organize by Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE) which involve both the male and female Engineers in honour of late Engr. Okoye, FNSE.
The former President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Engr. Charles Mbanefor, FNSE with his entourage of Senior Engineers (Engr. A. A. Rabiu, FNSE, Engr. T. S. Wudil, FNSE, Engr. Garba Mohammed, FNSE, Engr. Chinasaokwu, FNSE etc) flag off the competition on the 14th November, 2017.

The Members of the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE) under the distinguished chairmanship of Engr. Chika Fredericks MNSE visit the FERMA Asphalt Plant on the 22nd March, 2017 for knowledge sharing with the experience professional in the plant and also possible business relation with the plant management. This visit was made possible after the approval of the FERMA Managing Director (MD) Engr. Peter Ode Ibu directing the Asphalt Plant Manager, Engr.
